Greater Duval Neighborhood Association is proud to announce our First Annual Holiday Fundraiser and Scholarship Gala. For the past decade, Greater Duval has provided services to our community through small grants, donations, and the love, sweat and tears of

our residents and supporters. This year we will host our very first community-wide fundraiser to increase resources and support for our community, and to establish the inaugural GDNA Community Scholarship.

How we serve: Currently, Greater Duval is a 501c3 that operates four community programs to facilitate service to the East Gainesville community of Duval Heights: Out East Youth Culinary Classes and Summer Sling Empowerment Program, Seniors On the Move and the GDNA Food and Garden Initiative.

About Our Community: The Greater Duval Neighborhood has been identified as one of the most economically challenged neighborhoods in Gainesville, FL. Despite such

hardships, Greater Duval is a tightly bonded community with strong generational ties and a

sense of togetherness. In more recent years, these inherent neighborhood strengths have been enhanced through the partnership of multiple organizations and community leaders throughout the city of Gainesville, all of whom are striving to bring financial stability, and address education, food accessibility, and economic development in the community.

Here’s how you can join in this movement of community empowerment and economic development: 1. Please read the following page for details about our fundraiser and

Education & Outreach

Tackling the Issue

Most of our efforts pertaining to this program involve studying new approaches and developing innovative ways to implement them. We evaluate our success in this field by gathering qualitative and quantitative data, and using that information to measure shifts and changes from our baseline measurements. We provide our youth with great opportunities for success in education, by implementing programs designed to empower students and parents.
